You will enter the Great Forge here from the stairwell in the Dwarven Puzzle Room.
2. Forge
On your first visit to the forge it will not be operating, but after you have visited the Tiers of the Dead and done away with the Terikan in the Hall of Heroes it will be restored to operation. When the forge is active again you can search this compartment to collect the Forge Key needed to pass through the last door in the Hall of Heroes and an axe called The Celebrant's Blade.
3. Norlinor
Norlinor, the Artisan of the Forge and a former priest of Moradin, awaits you here in spirit form. If you explain to him that you have not come here to defile the forge he will describe the recent conflicts here and the occupation of the Tiers of the Dead by a necromancer named Terikan.
Norlinor will ask your party to find and kill Terikan, but will explain that he has become a Lich and cannot be destroyed unless you first find his phylactery in the crypts in the Hall of Heroes and remove it from this plane. This can be achieved using a vortice that Terikan has been studying in Jamoth's Tomb in the Hall of Heroes.
After Terikan's phylactery has been destroyed and he is no more, return to Norlinor for a large experience reward and search the compartment in the forge at area two.
These three exits lead to the Tiers of the Dead area.
