recent downtime

Hi all,
Just a note to say that although the site has been offline for the past few days, everything should now be back in place and working fine. If you notice anything that has stopped working, I'd appreciate if you would send an e-mail to me at info@davemckay.co.uk.

David.

Your page on Nietzsche: at the bottom it is really a bit too dark, that green writing.

It is somehow contradictory: your lists are very clean and well figured out, but then printed in such dark letters that one has to squint!

Dave, tried to email you with some info re: your Paine archive, but my email server doesn't recognize your email as given here. Mine is paineite at gmail dot com.

Here's a copy of my email draft:

Hi Dave, first let me say what incredibly fantastic work you have done.
Your philosophy websites are truly fabulous.

A point of scholarship and, if I may add, truth:
Thomas Paine did not author "An Occasional Letter on the Female Sex."
Foner and just about every other Paine compiler have
included it, so that his authorship is widely accepted these
days ... though patently erroniously so. It is an excerpt of:
Antoine-Léonard's Essai sur les femmes (Paris, 1772),

Historian Frank Smith proved this beyond the whisper of
a doubt back in 1935. Here's the citation:

* The Authorship of "An Occasional Letter on the Female Sex"
* Frank Smith
* American Literature, Vol. 2, No. 3 (Nov., 1930), pp. 277-280

Hope we can stay in touch.
Here's my latest (still in production)

ps. btw, sure could use a volunteer to update and
augment my website. I have a FANTASTIC archive
of Paine's works that is paginated to Foner, Conway
and vander Weyde collections but NO TIME to get it
up online. Know anyone with a passion for Paine and
some time on their hands?? 8^)
