HERACLITUS
of EPHESUS

Heraclitus of Ephesus (ca. 535–475BC) was a pre-Socratic Ionian philosopher, a native of Ephesus on the coast of Asia Minor. His ideas influenced other philosophers from antiquity to modern day including Parmenides, Plato, Aristotle, Nietzsche & Heidegger.

His work survives today only in the form of anecdotes, fragments and scattered biographical information.
